A rare body ornament depicting a face made of numerous cowrie shells and Coix lacryma-jobi seeds—known as “Job’s tears”—sewn onto beaten bark (perhaps from a banyan tree?). This type of decoration is displayed on the dancer’s back during traditional ceremonies. From the Middle Sepik area in Papua New Guinea. Single piece sold with a display stand.
