Pair Of Large Louis XIII And Louis XIV-style Armchairs In Sheepskin, With High, Flat Backrests

A beautiful pair of Louis XIII-style armchairs in walnut, with high backs.
Each armchair rests on four “sheep’s bone” legs, connected by an H-shaped crossbar—also in the “sheep’s bone” style—as is the upper crossbar connecting the two front legs.
Each backrest is steeply raked, providing great seating comfort.
The armrests are fitted with fully upholstered sleeves and rest on console-style supports.
The seat is very comfortable, having been recently reupholstered (see photo),
The upholstery, meanwhile, was done with a fine-stitched tapestry; please note the presence of a very small stain on the front of the seat of one of the armchairs (see photo).
Beautiful studded finish in aged brass.
A few minor, routine repairs have been made to the tips of the legs (see photo).
Note a slight chip on a crossbar of the leg frame at the end of the central armrest (see photo).
