Renaissance Louis XIII-style Ceremonial Armchair, Throne With Leather Seat And Backrest, 19th Century,
A very important ceremonial armchair made of waxed natural wood.
With its extraordinary proportions, this exceptional chair rests on four straight legs with square cross-sections, each ending in a wide, molded foot.
The two front legs are connected by a magnificent, richly carved and openwork crossbar. It is adorned with a cartouche at its center.
The armrest supports are turned into balusters and support very wide, flattened armrests of exceptional width, allowing for the placement of various objects.
Two lovely consoles depicting grotesques serve as the junction between the backrest and the armrests.
Both the seat and the backrest are upholstered in very thick leather and are in very good condition.
Note: there is some minor wear, scratches, and small cracks, which are entirely normal and due to use.
The top of the backrest is adorned with two large, fluted bronze finials.
The leather sections are embellished with beautiful brass ornamentation featuring shells and rosettes.
This chair has a very sturdy frame.
It is an exceptional piece of 19th-century craftsmanship.
