Large Louis XIII–louis XIV Armchair With A High, Flat Backrest And Baluster Legs, Early 18th Century

Large armchair from the early 18th century, in the Louis XIII–Louis XIV style, made of solid walnut.
It rests on two baluster-style front legs and two square-sectioned rear legs. They are connected by an H-shaped crossbar turned in the baluster style.
The backrest is flat and tall, slightly angled outward for greater comfort; the top is shaped like a gendarme’s cap.
The armrests are curved and rest on baluster-turned supports.
Our chair is very comfortable; in fact, both the seat and the upholstery have been recently reupholstered, and it features a beautiful finish (fringed trim and pyramid-shaped tacks).
Please note some previous repairs, notably on the right rear leg (a small raised section) as well as a chip on the left rear leg; see the last photo.
This chair offers great comfort and stability.
