Rare and significant solid silver pot spoon from Thouars dating from the 18th century, featuring a plain, flat design and a handle inscribed in small letters with "P.G H.D". Hallmarks and Discharge Marks for POITIERS 1781–89, Common Master’s Mark for THOUARS 1767–81 (T surmounted by the crowned letter A) and the hallmark of Master Silversmith Joseph CHACHEREAU (hallmark with the initials “IC”), granted in 1750. By cross-referencing the hallmarks on this piece, it can be precisely dated to 1781.
