Ghent, 1814–1831, Six Solid Silver Fruit Knives, Widow Roelants
Artist: Veuve Roelants
A very beautiful set of six fruit or dessert knives in solid first-grade silver, with blades in solid first-grade silver gilded in gold. The very definition of understated elegance. The blades are properly hallmarked. The hallmark for 24-carat silver from the period 1814 to 1831 is clearly visible. Also visible on the blades are the hallmark of the Ghent Assay Office and the maker’s mark of the Roelants firm.
