Solid silver wine tasterfrom the very rare workshop in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre (formerly La Ferté-au-Col). Plain design with a cut-out thumb rest; the rim is engraved with “SULPICE HEBERT.” Hallmark of the Sous-Fermier for La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, c. 1720–30, and the hallmark repeated four times (twice on the body, the thumb rest, and the ring) of Master Goldsmith Claude DE HAYNAULT (Hallmark featuring the initials “CDH,” a heart, a fleur-de-lis, and two grains of medicine) granted in 1714 to practice in La Ferté. A wine taster from the very rare La Ferté workshop, dating from the early 18th century, in very good condition and remarkably hallmarked, with minor scratches from use.
