30-minute hourglass with two bulbs in a leather frame, France, 18th century
Beautiful French 30-minute hourglass with two bulbs mounted in a black leather frame.
The hourglass measures 13.2 cm in height and 6 cm in diameter.
It dates from the first half of the 18th century. It is French.
The knot connecting the two glass bulbs is made of a woven thread covered with a fine fabric, which is itself coated with wax; the sand is white.
The hourglass is in perfect original condition and in perfect working order.
A fine example; models with leather frames are rare.
