Stunning Baoulé statue depicting a dignitary with his staff of authority, featuring a beautiful, well-worn patina in honey tones, from the first half of the last century, 40 cm tall and 44 cm with its base. In good overall condition.
The glare in the photos is due to the strong lighting used to show the objects as clearly as possible; they are darker in reality.
From a very fine collection assembled by expatriates who lived in Africa in the 1950s and 1960s and later passed down through inheritance, and while this isn’t always the case, these cultured individuals took the time to carefully select their pieces while there; they are all superb and antique, and I have several for sale.
