Salt box comprising two wooden panels with rounded sides, riveted together. It closes with a curved stopper with a square grip. A leather suspension cord was used to hang it up, but also to secure the stopper to the container.
Engraved decoration on both sides, featuring the owner’s initials ‘JP’ on one side and the date ‘1935’ on the other. The two handwritten inscriptions are enclosed within a sawtooth frieze.
A product of Duodji craftsmanship, it was used by nomadic herders.
