Total length: 63.5 cm; Blade length: 48.5 cm
Cast brass fittings.
Ovoid pommel topped by a dome serving as a rivet head.
Handle with twenty-six grooves.
Straight crossguard, ring-shaped quillons, hallmarks, numbered ‘1179’.
Double-edged blade, carp-tongue shape; triangular flat at the heel, central ridge, hallmarks, marked ‘Manuf Rle de Chatellerault’ on one side and presumably engraved ‘9 November 1841’ on the other.
Leather scabbard, chape marked ‘1179’ and brass ferrule, hallmarks.
