Artist: Léon Philibert Couturier
A lovely painting featuring hens, a rooster, and a duck was created by the French landscape and animal painter Léon-Philibert Couturier (1823, Chalon-sur-Saône – 1901, Saint-Quentin, Aisne). He studied under Charles and Jean-Claude Nicolas Couturier; beginning in 1844, he studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris under François Edouard Picot. Portraits and genre paintings; from 1853 onward, rural life and animal paintings. He worked as an illustrator for various magazines and newspapers.
