Inlaid Italian Game Table, Late 18th Century
Game table with veneers of bois de rose, bois de violette, rosewood, and mahogany. The tabletop features a central oval maple inlay depicting vases of flowers, with maple and mahogany fillets that are also repeated on the band beneath the tabletop. The interior of the folding tabletop features a central leather insert, floral inlays in maple and stained maple at the corners, frames in rosewood and palissander, maple fillets, and olive wood inserts. Pyramidal-trunk legs in mahogany and ebony. Italy, late 18th century.
