Elegant Art Nouveau-era double picture frame, circa 1900.
The front features rich relief decoration of leafy branches and berries, set against a fully hammered background. The piece is enlivened by a beautiful brown patina with coppery hues, which particularly highlights the sculpted details of the decoration. The frame is carefully assembled and punctuated by a regular pattern of small decorative nails, all of which are preserved, attesting to the exceptionally meticulous craftsmanship.
The frame features two glass openings designed to hold two photographs or small documents.
The back is made of wood and retains its two closing panels as well as their original small metal knobs.
A beautiful decorative object from the Art Nouveau period, notable for the prominence of its floral decoration and the quality of its relief carving.
