His works are bathed in serenity, poetry, silence and sometimes exude a certain nostalgia. A monograph devoted to his work was published in 1977 by Editions Ars Libris, Brussels ("Marie-Henriette Schilling" by Lucien De Meyer, preface by Daniel Pelletti). Mentioned in "Artists and Galleries 1997, 1998 and 2000 (4th edition)" and in "Deux Siècles de Signatures d'Artistes de Belgique".
