Mixed media on panel. Dimensions of the work: 50 x 60 cm. Dimensions with frame: 66 x 76 cm. With certificate. Jacques Baiverlin was born in Chénée (Liège) on June 24, 1927. 1978: First exhibition in Brussels, the theme of which was "the writing of things." 1979: Participation in the Prince Rainier of Monaco International Competition for Amateur Painters. He was selected for the second round after being chosen from over 2,000 participants. 1982: Second exhibition (Art Square) in Brussels. A work was acquired by a Minister of the Walloon Region to be presented during an official visit to Japan. Pourquoi-Pas wrote about the exhibited works: "...the principle echoes that honored by the great calligraphers of Islam, except that Baiverlin's graphic style is resolutely modern, typical of the 20th century, as were the 'logograms of Christian Dotremont'." March 1988: Invited to participate in the exhibition of artworks created by business leaders: "ART MEETS MANAGEMENT" at the Cercle Royal Gaulois Artistique et Littéraire in Brussels. The writer and philosopher, Joseph Basile, wrote: "A beautiful lesson in true humanism, since the rational engages in dialogue with the irrational, as in every human being." 1992: Direct participation in the design of the headquarters of the financial company he has chaired since 1983, built according to his guidelines on the proportions of the Golden Ratio. This subject has fascinated him for 40 years and serves as a hidden architecture in the composition of some of his works. October 2004: Exhibition of various works on chaos and recent sketches from live models, created during weekly open studio sessions at La Ferme Rose in Uccle, which he has attended since 2003; to maintain visual acuity and precision of execution, much like practicing scales. Count Simon du Chastel, Founding President of the European Foundation for Sculpture, and member of numerous artistic juries, wrote: "...Jacques describes the world of chaos to women with philosophy and perspective, that of the artist he has long been."
