Bronze sculpture group with a brown patina , depicting "Ravageot and Ravageode" Napoleon III’s famous basset hounds , exhibited at the 1853 Salon , version with chains around the dogs’ necks , by the sculptor Emmanuel Fremiet (1824–1910).
The sculptor’s signature "E. FREMIET" is engraved , on the richly chiseled naturalistic base , which features a snail .
Antique bronze , dating from the second half of the 19th century .
In perfect condition with excellent patina .
