Leon Bureau (1866-1906)
Leon Bureau was a French animal sculptor , born in Limoges on September 17 , 1906 .
A specialist in exotic animals , he began his apprenticeship with the sculptor Alexandre Falguiere (1831-1900) , and first exhibited at the French Artists Salon in 1884 .
He exhibited mainly plaster casts , a number of which were cast in bronze .
He died on May 26, 1906, in his native Limoges .
