Manufacture Feuillet - Gilt Porcelain Coffee Cup - Circa 1820 - Signed

Artist: Manufacture Feuillet à Paris
A beautiful one-litron cup made of Parisian porcelain from the Empire-Restoration period, circa 1820. It features a lovely blue polychrome design with gold scrollwork on a white background, alternating with lyre-shaped cameos on a pink background. The interior is entirely gilded, creating the illusion of drinking from gold. It bears the signature of the Manufacture Feuillet in Paris.

The signature “Feuillet à Paris” refers to Jean-Pierre Feuillet, one of the most renowned decorators in Paris between 1810 and 1840.Feuillet was not a porcelain manufacturer; he was a decorator who worked on unglazed pieces sourced from:

Dihl & Guérhard, Locré, Schoelcher, occasionally Sèvres (purchased unglazed), and other Parisian manufacturers.

During the Restoration, Feuillet was considered one of the finest gilders in Paris, on par with Boyer, Nast, and Dagoty.

A very beautiful collector’s piece, it is in perfect condition; no wear to the gilding.
