Pair Of Louis XV Period Marquetry Chiffoniers - 18th Century
A pair of rosewood marquetry chiffoniers, each with six drawers. They retain their rich rocaille bronze mounts, chased and gilded with fine gold, and are topped with a royal red marble slab. Parisian work from the Louis XV period, circa 1750. Chiffoniers are small pieces of lady's furniture, intended for furnishing 18th-century bedrooms to store clothing. They can be used as bedside tables on either side of a high four-poster bed, between windows, or as end tables for a sofa. A beautiful and highly decorative set, a true pair like the one we are offering is a very rare opportunity. Ideal for completing an 18th-century collection or décor. Our furniture is in excellent condition, with the French polish applied by our cabinetmaker using traditional methods. A very sound set, with no missing or repaired parts. A set of exquisitely crafted bronze mounts, featuring vibrant carving and chasing, and finished with matte and polished fine gold gilding. one of the 2 marbles was restored.
