Teapot - Porcelain - Kangxi - China - Early 18th Century

Elegant Chinese teapot in glossy glaze porcelain, decorated on each side with a porcelain reserve decorated in blue enamels under cover and red iron, representing two characters in a stylized landscape. This type of production, characteristic of the Kangxi period.

The body of the teapot is covered with a finely speckled olive brown glaze. Under this glaze appears, depending on the incidence of the light, a decoration engraved (incised) with rinceaux and floral motifs, executed before cooking. This work of great finesse, discreet but refined, is a quality detail that enriches the aesthetics of the piece and testifies to the care taken in its realization

The turned wooden lid is attached and integrates harmoniously into the whole.
