Minoo Waterfall, near Osaka
Located in the heart of Minoo Natural Park, this large waterfall is a favorite walking spot for the Japanese because of its beauty and the refreshing atmosphere it exudes.
Kusakabe Kimbei (1841–1934) was a colorist and assistant to Felice Beato and Baron Raimond von Stillfried before opening his own studio in Yokohama in 1881.
Around 1885, he purchased the negatives from Beato and Stillfried. In the late 19th century, Kimbei captured numerous portraits of Japanese people. The prints, which he hand-colored, were then sold to tourists visiting the country.
