Vintage albumen print (circa 1870) - Photo format 21.5 x 27 cm - Under mat 40x50cm Felix Bonfils is a French photographer (1831 - 1885). He learned photography from Niepce de Saint-Victor, nephew of Nicéphore Niepce. He opened his photographic studio in 1867 in Beirut, Lebanon, where he specialized in the architecture and landscapes of Egypt, Palestine, Syria and Greece. The cedar is the symbolic tree of Lebanon. It is considered a sacred tree and is mentioned in the three great monotheistic religions.
