Daguerreotype Man With Book In Union Case Circa 1845 Photograph

Daguerreotype Portrait Man with sideburns sitting near a pedestal table holding firmly in his right hand a large leather-bound book. Sixth plate in its Union Case set with Pinchbeck. The daguerreotype is the first photographic process developed by Nicéphore Niépce then Louis Daguerre and offered to the whole world (except the United Kingdom) by France in 1839. It is both a negative and a positive hence this characteristic mirror effect. They will also be poetically called in the 19th century "the mirrors that remember".
