At that time, Herschtritt, then 24 years old, had just won the prestigious Prix Niépce, making him the youngest recipient of this prize. This photograph is part of a series of works in which he explores the human condition, the body, and the intimacy of creative spaces. Léon Herschtritt (1936–2020) was a major French photographer of the humanist movement.
