Royal Worcester Albert Shuck Signed Hand-painted Fruit Cabinet Plate, 1918

Produced by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company in 1918, this elegant cabinet plate is hand-painted and signed by the accomplished fruit painter Albert Shuck. The underside retains the original Bonhams auction label, providing documented auction provenance.

The central reserve depicts two ripe apples and a branch of dark blue grapes amongst delicate blossom and foliage. Executed in finely shaded enamels, the composition demonstrates the refined tonal modelling and botanical realism that established Royal Worcester's Painted Fruit porcelain among the finest achievements of English ceramic art. The broad cobalt blue border is lavishly decorated with burnished hand-applied gold ornament and finely executed raised jewelled (pearl) gilding.

Albert Shuck (1880-1961) belonged to the distinguished generation of Royal Worcester artists who brought the factory's painted-fruit department to international prominence during the early twentieth century. His signed works continue to be highly regarded by collectors for their refined technique and enduring decorative appeal.

The underside bears the authentic puce Royal Worcester crowned factory mark with the date code for 1918. Above the factory mark appears the retailer's mark of Mappin & Webb, one of Britain's most prestigious jewellers and luxury houses, which regularly commissioned and retailed Royal Worcester's finest porcelain for its distinguished clientele.

Excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repairs detected under UV light. The gilding, enamels and hand-painted decoration remain exceptionally well preserved.
