DESCRIPTION: A beautiful Napoleon III-era console table featuring two freestanding columns adorned with asparagus scrolls and ingot motifs, richly decorated with gilded bronze accents including ingot motifs, spandrels, Corinthian capitals on the columns, bands, and decorative motifs on the sides.
It is above all the marquetry that makes this piece stand out, with a solid door adorned with bouquets, swirling interlacing patterns, flowers, foliage, and volutes, and beautifully engraved brass details. Double-lined framing moldings.
The marquetry is composed of mother-of-pearl, bone, and brass, set against a background of ebony veneer.
