DESCRIPTION: A beautiful Napoleon III period side table in Boulle marquetry of brass on an ebony veneer ground. The marquetry on the central panel features a motif of scrolls, volutes, and interlacing patterns, framed by an apron and a large canopy in gilt bronze. Rich ornamentation of gilt bronze with high drops, multiple moldings, a frieze in the upper section, and corner mounts. Rests on four tapered legs topped with bronze mounts. The bronze mounts are stamped in the casting with the initials HPR for Henri Picard & Ringo, a renowned bronze caster of the second half of the 19th century, specializing in furniture bronzes. Mahogany interior with two shelves. White Carrara marble top.
