Pair Of Porcelain Cornucopia Vases From The Mid-19th Century
A pair of cornucopia-shaped porcelain vases of French origin from the mid-19th century. Decorated on a wine-red background, they feature beautiful, finely painted central compositions within gold-outlined medallions in vivid colors, depicting bucolic scenes on the front and bouquets of flowers on the back, with the base of the vase depicting a white swan, partially highlighted in pure gold. The side of the vase is decorated with gold relief motifs on a red background. Rectangular base with scrollwork, featuring red decoration accented with gold, and feet shaped like curls and a shell in the center.
