Small Louis XV-style Drop-leaf Desk

Small early 19th-century Louis XV-style drop-leaf secretary desk, curved on all sides, resting on four arched legs topped with gilded bronze feet.
Beautiful floral marquetry decoration in various precious woods (wavy cicomore, lemonwood, ash, olive, maple, etc.) on a rosewood background in 4- and 2-panel designs on three sides of the piece.
The upper section features a very sturdy writing flap with two compartments, covered in Bordeaux red leather with fine gold leaf detailing, revealing a “theater-style” interior with small shelves and two drawers.
The lower section opens via two doors, revealing a shelf.
The secretary desk is adorned with a very beautiful set of period chiseled and gilded bronze ornaments and topped with a 3-cm-thick slab of “yellow Pyrenean brocatelle” marble, molded around its perimeter with a so-called “corbin beak with groove” design..
