"Louis XV Period Secretary, Solid Mahogany Stamped "léonard Boudin And Louis Moreau""
Rare 18th century Louis XV period secretary circa 1765 in solid mahogany bearing a double stamp "Léonard Boudin master in 1761 and Louis Moreau master in 1764. Secretary topped with its period marble "brèche d'alep" molded with a beak of corbin on its edge and held in place by 2 small pegs on each side (uncommon thing). Under this marble, a drawer with a typical doucine on these secretaries of the Louis XV period. Drawer equipped with its iron lock called "queue de pie" (closing downwards) with its key. Useful storage height of this drawer 8 cm. In the central part, a flap made with a magnificent speckled mahogany panel in one part and with the horizontal grain of the wood, typical with the invention of these furniture "secretair à abatant" appeared under the reign of Louis XV. This flap once opened is supported by two compasses, this which makes a very stable and solid writing desk to work on.
