Important Louis XV-period guillotine secretary desk in precious wood veneer, 18th-century French craftsmanship.

This very elegant piece features a dynamic front adorned with a remarkable geometric veneer design of butterfly wings and scroll-cut panels.

The upper section opens with two lattice-work doors, revealing a storage space.

The central drop-down section reveals a beautifully organized interior featuring compartments, shelves, and small drawers.

The lower section opens via two doors, revealing additional storage space.

Richly ornamented with gilded bronze details such as clogs, lock plates, and finials.

Beautifully curved lines typical of Louis XV furniture.

Very fine cabinetmaking and a superb, warm patina.
