Large Glazed Stoneware Vase – Designer Ceramics
Large glazed stoneware vase – Designer ceramics by
A substantial turned and sculpted stoneware vase with a tapered silhouette, entirely covered in a remarkable fired glaze featuring shades of white, powdery pink, and deep brown. The surface features an organic design in high relief reminiscent of bark, petals, or mineral formations, enlivened by numerous indentations and textural effects created during firing.
The glaze work is particularly striking: the glaze runs, the rosy hues, and the brown-black accents create a depth and visual richness that make each side unique. This unique piece embodies an aesthetic closely aligned with trends in contemporary Japanese and Scandinavian ceramics, where the material and the fire become the true creators of the work.
The vase is signed on the underside (see photo).
In very good condition; note only a few small chips in the glaze on the upper rim, which are barely visible and do not affect the piece’s appearance.
A striking decorative piece, ideal for a contemporary interior or to enhance a collection of art ceramics.
