A free-form paperweight by Swedish artist Osa Scherdin, born in 1932. It was a gift from Albert Bouilhet, head of Christofle, presented to VIPs at Christmas 1975. This piece was a special commission for that occasion; it was never sold commercially, which makes it a rarity. This model is called “Les Origines de la Vie” (The Origins of Life)—I’ll leave it to your imagination.
