In a quintessential Napoleon III style, here is a travel writing case with a slightly slanted lid. It is made of black papier-mâché featuring a medallion of a bouquet of flowers in mother-of-pearl; you’ll also find mother-of-pearl in the oval and rectangular frames, and the entire piece is accented with gold. The interior is lined with embossed pink silk velvet and features a flap that opens to reveal a compartment for storing writing paper. Please note a minor chip in one corner.
