Pair Of Japanese Porcelain Lamps, Meiji Period
Pair of porcelain lamps with white and blue decoration accented with gold.
The lamps were fashioned from a hexagonal-based, unpierced vase.
The six rounded sides are decorated with geometric motifs alternating with landscape scenes or cherry tree branches bearing a bird. These designs appear within panels outlined with gold and red fillets.
Beneath the hexagonal base, outlined by a blue border, one of the lamps bears a green rectangular stamp, while the other bears a series of Japanese ideograms.
Very good overall condition; there is only a tiny chip on the neck of one of the lamps (see photo).
New electrical wiring.
