Louis XV Period Mirror In Carved Gilded And Blue Painted Wood
Charming Louis XV period mirror in gilded wood and blue-grey painted wood.
A central "Régence" shell and a symmetry of the decoration place it rather at the beginning of the Louis XV style.
The sculptures are pronounced, the old gilding is very present. This is enhanced by the blue paint which adorns the bottom of the sculpted elements.
A floral branch wraps around each upright.
The mirror is topped with a vase with handles from which escapes a floral garland which joins the sides.
A ribbon decorates the belly of the vase.
Mercury mirror, wooden floor on the back of the mirror.
