Beautiful 17th Century Court Portrait, Attributed To Charles Beaubrun

Very beautiful court portrait, superbly restored, this large 3/4 painting represents a noble lady identified as the Princess of Condé.
Dressed in a rich dress decorated with lace, pearls and ribbons, she stands out against a background of red drapery highlighted by a large oval in the 17th century fashion, creating the perspective of a painting within the painting.
She holds a bouquet of roses in her hands, symbol of love.
The very expressive face with its "in folio" hairstyle and pearly skin was described as beautiful according to the canons of the time.
Charlotte de Montmorency (1604-1694) Princess of Condé by her marriage to Henri II of Bourbon-Condé (1609), was in turn Lady of Honor to Queen Marie de Medici, then to Queen Anne of Austria, remaining a faithful servant of the Crown, despite the succession upheavals, she was chosen to become godmother of the future Louis XIV.
