Baoulé Statue

An elegant blolo bla female figure with a proud bearing, carved from a dense wood lustered by use. The face, imbued with great gentleness, features half-closed eyelids and extremely fine modeling, crowned by a delicately grooved coiffure.

The harmoniously proportioned body reveals full and dynamic volumes: high breasts, powerful hips, and firmly planted legs. Remarkably, the statuette retains its original leather loincloth.

Combining formal refinement, sculptural charm, and authenticity, this Baoulé work stands as a perfect representation of the otherworldly spouses celebrated by this people.
