19th-century Solid Silver Communion Cup For The Sick
Beautiful solid silver (950/1000) ciborium for the sick
Restoration period.
Three hallmarks identified:
. Hexagonal “old man” hallmark on the rim of the communion wafer compartment (face turned 90° to the right),
950/1000, made in the French provinces,
circa 1819–1838.
. Shell hallmark (at the base of the ciborium): small guarantee: an object of small mass according to the classification of the tax office located in eastern France during the 19th century.
. Horse-head hallmark: 1835–1838.
(On the base). “Large object” mark.
Weight: 61.9 gr of silver.
Height: 11 cm (including the cross)
In good overall condition, with a beautiful mirror finish.
