Statue of Henry IV as a Child: This work, a piece of royalist propaganda, pays homage to the first king of the Bourbon dynasty, Henri IV of Béarn, but also to the future king who was at the time set to ascend the throne: the Duke of Bordeaux, grandson of Charles X and grandnephew of Louis XVIII, later known as the Count of Chambord and as Henri V to the Legitimists.

Silver-plated bronze, a fine cast from the mid- to late 19th century, likely sold to visitors at the Museum of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).

This effigy of the young King Henry IV, whose plaster model was exhibited at the 1822 Salon, enjoyed tremendous success throughout the 19th century. BOSIO (1768–1845), a Neoclassical sculptor, ventures here into troubadour art—an intimate and anecdotal approach to history. The statue’s charm lies in its appearance, which is at once youthful and solemn.
