17th-century Louis XIII walnut sideboard
Impressive solid walnut sideboard from the Louis XIII period, dating from the 17th century.
The front features two waist drawers, adorned with their original lock plates and drop handles in iron, above two richly molded doors with diamond-pointed panels. The interior features two storage shelves.
The upper section is adorned with a display shelf supported by two elegant turned baluster columns and a back panel with carved panels, topped by an imposing molded cornice with denticle decoration, typical of Louis XIII furniture. The piece as a whole displays a sober and powerful design, characteristic of 17th-century French furniture.
This sideboard is crafted from solid walnut and has retained a beautiful antique patina. The hardware is original, and the piece is in good condition, showing normal signs of wear consistent with its age.
