Pair Of 18th-century Directoire-style Bookcases
Pair of Directoire-style bookcases in pine – 18th century
Rare pair of Directoire-style bookcases in solid pine, dating from the late 18th century.
These two pieces feature the simple and elegant lines characteristic of the Directoire period, with a molded cornice, original small-paned glass doors, and a beautiful antique patina.
One of the bookcases features a column of seven side drawers, providing particularly practical storage, while the other has two drawers along the base. The lower sections close with two paneled doors, revealing ample storage space. The interiors are lined with numerous shelves.
The backs are made of wide antique planks, and the small-paned glass is period-correct. The set is in excellent condition, with a warm and authentic patina.
