A magnificent and imposing curved and domed chest of drawers (tombeau style) from the Louis XV period (18th century), a high-quality French-made piece. This prestigious piece of furniture, featuring high relief, stands out for the elegance of its sinuous lines and the finesse of its craftsmanship.

The chest of drawers features superb cabinetmaking, entirely crafted from rosewood veneer arranged in butterfly-wing patterns within geometric panels, accented by delicate hawthorn fillets and rosewood frames that create magnificent contrasts in tone.

The dynamic front features three large drawers arranged in three rows. The cabinetmaker chose a high-quality construction without visible crossbars, allowing the marquetry design to unfold continuously across the entire front. The piece is crowned by its substantial original polychrome breccia marble top, featuring a double beak-of-corbin molding that perfectly follows the sinuous contours of the frame.

The piece features rich and luxurious period Rocaille-style chiseled and gilded bronze hardware: large hinged pull handles with foliage motifs, asymmetrical lock plates, an elaborate central apron trim, large corner finials emphasizing the arch, and foot caps finishing the curved legs.
