Large Empire-style breakfast cup and saucer made of gilded Paris porcelain, decorated with gold fillets, palmette friezes, poppies, and mushrooms (??). Beautiful matte and glossy gilding to simulate relief. Thehandle is adorned with a lotus leaf.
Empire Restoration period, circa 1815–1820.
Our cup is a very rare large size, whose capacity makes it suitable foruse as a breakfast cup today in the 21st century.
The set is in very good condition. The gilding is fresh, with some wear on the rim of the saucer; no chips or cracks.
