Superb coffee and mocha service from Maison Rouard 24 avenue de l'opéra Paris. Georges ROUARD 1874 1929 is an erudite art lover, a collector, in 1920 he introduced himself as a ceramist and glassmaker, owner of Maison La Paix and president of the union chamber of ceramics and glassware, departmental inspector of technical education as well as a member of the board of directors of the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs. But it was in 1900 that he took over at 34 Avenue de L'Opéra in Paris, the management of the sales house 3 A LA PAIX "founded 20 years earlier by Jules Mabut. In the 1920s, this house was renamed Galerie Rouard, this boutique offers tableware services, Royal Saxony Manufacture, Daum Val St Lambert, Limoges Boch Frères and Sèvres, crystals and furniture from Emile Gallé SINCE 1914 it promotes modern decorative arts and distributes the works of decorative artists from many fields. The service offered consists of a large empire-shaped coffee pot, a smaller one, a sugar bowl, 12 large cups, 10 mocha cups, 11 dessert plates. Empire frieze gold gilding (no traces of wear) note a small, non-visible chip on the back of the lid of the large coffee pot. All the pieces are signed by ROUARD Very beautiful set of high quality
