English Folding-top Table In Oak, Dating From The Late 17th–early 18th Century
This English gateleg table made of solid oak dates from the late 17th or early 18th century, corresponding to the William III / early Queen Anne period.
It rests on a base with six turned legs joined by crossbars and features a gateleg mechanism to support the two folding wings. The tabletop, made of wide oak planks, displays a beautiful antique patina and an authentic appearance, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age.
Both practical and elegant, this table could serve as a dining table or a side table. When folded, it takes up very little space, while its leaves provide a generous surface when extended.
A fine example of antique English furniture, prized for the quality of its craftsmanship, its balanced proportions, and the charm of its weathered oak.
