"18th-century Chest Of Drawers In Fruitwood – Claw Feet"
An 18th-century French chest of drawers in fruitwood, opening with three drawers in the front. Each drawer is carved with shells framing the keyholes, a typical motif of provincial furniture from the second half of the 18th century. The drawers retain their original handles and locks. The top is gently curved, following the curve of the front. The chest rests on claw feet ending in balls, giving it a sturdy base and a striking sculptural presence. This antique piece displays a beautiful patina from use. Note: an old crack in the top, some pitting and traces of old (but inactive) woodworm, as well as a few minor damage and repairs consistent with age. Overall, a sound and stable piece, consistent with an authentic piece of furniture from this period.
