Louis XV Style Bench From The 18th Century, Circa 1750–1770
An elegant Louis XV bench from the 18th century, circa 1750–1770, in carved and waxed beechwood, presented "in white" with a natural linen cover. The triple-arched back, the undulating rails, and the cabriole legs are finely carved with florets and foliage. The piece is distinguished by its balance, lightness, and the quality of the craftsmanship. The antique frame has been fully restored, retaining its original pegged joints, visible on the underside. New linen upholstery on traditional webbing, ready to be reupholstered according to the buyer's taste. The pegged joints, the slightly irregular hand carving, and the wood's patina attest to genuine 18th-century craftsmanship, predating the mechanical production of the 19th century. A beautiful, authentic, and well-balanced piece, typical of 18th-century French provincial seating, both understated and refined.
