Antique pyxide made of fine ceramic, typical of production in southern Italy.
It features a rounded, cup-shaped body on a foot and a lid with a large knob, adorned with a painted design alternating between female profiles and stylized palmettes; the design is executed in black in reserve on a red background with white highlights.
The object shows traces of lime deposits, as well as minor abrasions and chips, which are common given its age.
Some wear and chips, with no visible restoration.
